River Respite Benedictory is located near Massena, NY, on Wilson Hill Island, at the eastern end of the Thousand Islands Region in the St. Lawrence River on the US-Canadian border.  Year round access to the island is provided by a causeway.

Ships of all kinds from all over the world, including the occasional tall ship, pass by the island on their way to the Great Lakes or the Atlantic Ocean.  Portions of the island and surrounding waters are included in a NY State Wildlife Conservation Area, and are home to loons, herons, osprey, hawks, otters, foxes and deer.  The river is alive with carp, pike and muskie.
